Why won't people read the constitution and actually see that the president has no control over anything. All the president is commander in chief. All the president can do is VETO a bill.Everything else he/she has to go through congress to get anything done. So why are people blaming the president? Can't you see that congress has all the power and the president is just a puppet? Or are they just looking for someone to blame? Your thoughts?Why won't you people see that the president has no control over spending?
Congress approves the budget or not, but The President proposes a budget and the veto power you mentioned gives him a lot of say in whether a budget bill becomes law or not. It is good that you understand that he is not all powerful, but calling someone with as much power as The President has a ';puppet'; is incorrect.
And, yes, they all look for someone to blame; even any President does that. Presidents see members of Congress who oppose their policies as ';obstructionist'; and talk as if only the other side is being stubborn in a deadlock, when in fact a deadlock can only happen when both sides are equally stubborn.Why won't you people see that the president has no control over spending?
Just like a CEO, the POTUS is a figurehead. he is only really a pr guy that for the country. He can suggest policy be needs congress to approve it.
Then by the same token, no President has the right to take credit for cutting taxes.
Just keep in mind that, ';the President proposes, and Congress disposes.';
That says it all.
I'm guessing you won't get many intelligent answers here. good luck!
how do you feel about Bush then????
So we can blame the Democrats now, right?
because it is easier to blame one person than a group of people.
People are not going to read the Constitution on here... I mean they spend more time defacing the president's photo for a avatar pic. Who has time for the Constitution?
I agree and do see that. The President can propose spending and programs but Congress has to approve them. The problem is we have two foxes guarding the hen-house. We have a president that wants to spend untold amounts of money and a Congress more than happy to oblige..
Thank you for posting this, I think most people are looking for someone to blame. Just because he supports it dosent mean it will get past congress.
The President could plea for Congress to stop the spending. He pushed for the Stimulus Package, he's pushing for the expensive Health Care reform package and he admitted that the deficit is going to be greater than Bush's after his 1st term. He promised to cut the deficit by the end of his first term and instead he's pushing agenda that would add to it and more than his predecessor George W. Bush.
In the case of Obama....his democrat congress is the puppet. HIS stimulus spending spree was voted in. HIS socialization of health care is being considered by the liberal congress. HIS tax and cap policy was passed by the congress. If your party is in power when you are president, then you can do just about anything you want.
I 100% agree with you, its a fact at nausea.
Congress and the Senate where in Republican majority since 1994 until recently and screwed up everything royally.
Now, lets all give the Democrats for at least 12 years a chance, to straighten it back out, they always do.
