The actual throttle solenoid part of it is vacuum powered. Make sure the vacuum line to it is still good. Why does the cruise control no work on my 2000 model F250 diesel?
Hopefully it's as simple as a fuse, or a bad connection.

I had this happen on one of my cars and it was some kind of spring had broken inside the steering wheel. This very small piece of metal was responsible for the problem. And it was fairly expensive to fix as I remember. They had to take the steering column apart to get at it. So labor costs were the name of the game. But once they did what the needed to do, it worked like new.

Take it to a dealer and have it checked. If they want to charge you for looking at it and giving a written estimate, make sure they apply that cost to your final bill.
i own a repair shop, and i think id check the fuse for it first, its usually something simple on them when they stop working, but if that turns out to be good id check the speed sensor,if the speedometer works ok the speed sensor is probably good on it if its not the fuse it may be the control box for it,and only a dealer can test it,you may have to have them do a diagnostic test on it,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.
cruise control works by knowing vehicle speed . does speedo register actual speed you are traveling? also check for blown fuse .It is a seperate fuse P.S. you may have two fuse panels ,one near steering coluum and one under hood . check owners manual.
you could take it to auto zone or advanced auto and have them check the computer for codes i know its free at aout zone if your cheack engine light is on
