Why do people think we have no control over what happens in washington?

I don't ... My prayers to God have wonderful effect...i see it all the time....Why do people think we have no control over what happens in washington?

Do you mean ';We the People';? Once we vote those people in, they have the control, not us. That is is ANYONE has control. Strong possibility that we are ALL being carried by the currents.
because any single person really doesn't. even public leaders need supporting members
haha..probably those who don't vote. Or they vote but have no clue that their vote means they share responsibility for the stupid things some of our elected officials do.
Because our lawyer-politician overlords have beaten the resistance out of us.
Well if you mean we have control by voting for our Congressmen and our President while they make promises that they almost never keep and do whatever they want...then I guess we are in total control.

Of course they do. They just voted in November. What's going on there is exactly what they voted for unless they were playing the ballot like Pin the Tail on the Donkey or voting straight ticket or by race. People do have control. They have total control. It's when people do idiotic things like vote without educating themselves, listening only to slick speeches, not researching voting records, or not voting at all and just whining and such that things go haywire.
Most people do believe that, because they are lazy and apathetic.
