If the President has no control over gas prices, then why is McCain praising Bush for this?

Yesterday (or the day before) there was an article where McCain was ';commending'; Bush for ';lowering gas prices';.





But, Repubs have stated on SEVERAL occassions that the President is NOT responsible for:


- The poor economy


- The high energy prices


- The high unemployment


- Etc.





If this is true, why is he only CREDITED for the GOOD news.


One would think he should take credit for both the good AND bad news OR not take any credit at all.





Why the hypocrisy?

is funny and as for hypocrisy, well maybe they will need a pass on that one because it is a mandatory action that they are required to take. The President doesn't have the ability to set the price of gas. He does have the ability to make (and retract) decisions that subsequently change the price of gas. Bush lifting the ban on off-shore drilling led speculators to believe that in the near future there would be more domestic supply, and therefore the price has gone down.





But this happens on BOTH sides of the aisle. Everyone is quick to claim the good, and quick to distance themselves from the bad. It's all politics....but calling all Republicans hypocrites for this, in itself is hypocritical....because Dems are guilty too.
Because Bush lifted the off shore drilling ban.Its Nacy Pelosi and the DemoRAT congress who WANT your gas prices to stay high to sut use by 30 percent.Thats why SHE has BLOCKED all talk of drilling from the floor!The hypocrisy is within the DemoRAT party who say they are for lower gas but refuse to do anything about it.
Hypocrisy = all Republican policies


Anti-gay platform = Gay congressman hitting on boys


They claim Dems Tax and spend Clinton = budget surplus Bush = 12 billion per week wasted on Iraq USA billions in the red rendering dollar worthless

Think about it buddy! He approves or denies bill passed for example on of shore drilling he accepted to keep ofshore drilling and gas prices are down thanks to bush......people need to give lots of credit to bush b/c he has done alot more than just this its just the media is beating him up.

Because within a day of announcing the withdrawal of the executive ban on off shoring the prices dropped.
