Stress! How do you relax over something you have no control over?

Yet it still affects you, and you know stressing wont' help but yet you still stress..Stress! How do you relax over something you have no control over?
If you know with absolute certainty that you can not change it...then acceptance is the only answer.

an example... A friend of mine had his car window smashed in a break in. No one saw it and it cost him 300 dollars to replace the window. He can't sue anyone for the damages. Insurance rates are going up..he'd like to blame someone but there's nothing he can do except pay for the damage and move on...He still stresses over it even though he knows it's pointless...it is human nature to hope in the face of hopelessness...Good luck

God grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change; COURAGE to change the things I can..

Serenity prayer...Stress! How do you relax over something you have no control over?
find other things to concentrate on. Do something that allows you to spend energy on something new that helps others.
First, you have to accept you can't control it and then stop worrying about it! Whenever you start to feel stressed, do something! Anything! read a book, cook a meal, watch a film, go for a walk, exercise vigorously, lie on your bed and picture yourself on a sandy beach in the sun! It doesn't matter what as long as you immerse yourself in it and push all thoughts of the problem out of your mind!

I walk my dog!
Me, I just realize that if there is nothing that I can do, then there is no need to stress. Just wait and roll with the punches. Just know that you are going to come out of it alive and what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Try to relax by doing something else like exercising, lounging by a pool, reading in a park under the shade of a tree, or taking a scenic drive.
Get yourself a case of beer, And relax....
voiceofexperience said what i wouldve said. you have to learn how to roll with the punches to survive the really hard ones coming ahead at you. answering questions like this one is a way of taking that breath of relaxation...';trying to help someone else with our past experiences';. my mother used to tell me ';an idle mind is the devils playground';. of course i disagreed but she was right about alot of things. good luck to you
You need to find a way that calms and de-stresses you. For some people it is exercises, for others meditation. Others need to talk to a friend. Some need to pretend they are lying on a sandy beach or some other favorite calming place. Definitely you must accept the things you cannot change and let it go.
Let it go , and take a deep breath!
I'm the same! Sometimes I just need someone to tell me... so I'll tell you....... There is NOTHING you can do! FORGET!
