Do conservatives assume the liberals want no control over the government?

Liberals often seek to have socialized programs, these of course become the responsibility of a government rather than several independent private institutions.

Do conservatives feel that liberals forfeit any control of their governing officials of such programs? For example, if the government were to deem that people over the age of 60 are seen to be an outrageous expense to maintain healthcare, do you think most liberals would agree? Or do you think liberals would rebel against such procedures?Do conservatives assume the liberals want no control over the government?
No by giving the government the power to provide health care (as an example) liberals are sacrificing their freedom and responsibility to provide for themselves.

The second part of your question is more interesting...I think you're right in regard to the liberals rebelling...however it has been my experience that most liberals rebel against (what ever) things for the sake of rebelling...They have no idea why they are rebelling...they have no clue what they are rebelling against...and they have not given any thought to what will change as a result of their rebellion...they're just simply rebelling for the sake of being a rebel...

They like to think of themselves as non-conformists or non-traditionalists...they don't realize that when something is not broken then there really is no need to fix it.Do conservatives assume the liberals want no control over the government?
Liberals, especially elected officials, want the government to control everything. Liberals want to control the government. Obama is a socialist. He wants full control. If socialized medicine were in place, liberal patients would have no say so, no matter what they want or don't want.

60 Minutes, Sunday evening, did a report on Medicare. It loses 60 billion dollars to fraud every year. And the government allows it to continue. Private insurers have claims people who make sure bills are legitimate before paying bills. Medicare does not.
Do you mean real liberals or socialists fraudulently calling themselves ';liberal.'; See below.

True liberalism advocates: individual freedom, weak government, and free markets. Conservatism advocates: moral responsibility, strong government, and protected markets. Socialism advocates: social responsibility, omnipotent government, and controlled markets.
I think the conservative perception is that liberals want complete control over society, and would use siezing complete control over the government as a means to achieve that.

That liberals harbor similar fears about conservatives is probably also worth mentioning.
Basically, cons think Libs way too much on the gov't. We only need a small gov't you know, no reason to let the gov't take control, people are pretty resilient.
Once you forfeit control to the government, getting it back is very difficult
Because government manages things so well ^_^.
