I am 21 and have had sex with my partner for 3 years unprotected, no birth control. Should I be worried?

He used to use Marijuanna when he was a child and I'm afraid if I can't have kids. Could there be a medical reason?I am 21 and have had sex with my partner for 3 years unprotected, no birth control. Should I be worried?
Get a professional's opinion.. go see your doctor!I am 21 and have had sex with my partner for 3 years unprotected, no birth control. Should I be worried?
Why do you want to have kids with a druggie??? Smart choice.
Yeah. The problem could be you.
what is your ?? are you worried that you've not gotten preg yet?
there could be a medical reason. if you are worried about it or trying to get pregnant, i would see your doc.
maybe you should not have a child until you get married anyway.
marijuana can lower sperm count but not significantly. chances are you're barren. myep.

oh and if you're a guy, then that could be an issue too, because a woman is required for childbirth. in case you didn't know.
Get a sperm count. Lucky you!
No need to worry just yet, I was with my son's father for 4 years , no protection or birth control pills used ever and never got pregnant even once, but that fifth year I got pregnant and hav a little boy now.
He is a dead...F***.No playin, go to docs and get checked an get birth control
go to the doctor!
Yes, you should be worried about STD's. However, I have never heard of Marijuanna being a cause for a person not being able to have a child. So I suggest you get tested if you want a child. Or maybe you have just been lucky so far, very hard to say.
no...it's just the luck of the draw...trust me from personal experiences always wear protection
You should be worried. You have put yourself at serious risk not only for pregnancy but for any STD he might have. There are some diseases for which men are just carriers - unless they get tested, they wouldn't even know they had it, but they could still pass it along to you.

Get to your doctor or local clinic immediately and get tested for STDs and pregnancy. Then ask your doctor or local Planned Parenthood for some basic sex education and birth control. You should use a condom every single time you have sex, no excuses.

His past drug use could possibly cause him fertility problems (unlikely, but possible). But his drug use cannot make YOU infertile. If you are having trouble conceiving, there are plenty of other causes - talk with your doctor.
help alert
if you're trying to conceive you should probably see a fertility specialist. if you're not you should consider yourself lucky you haven't. there's no real evidence that smoking marijuana permanent damage to sperm count. if he stops they will be fine.
Nope, I have been with my bf for 5 years unprotected and we haven't had any kids yet, and we have done a lot more than smoking pot...not to brag. If you feel that there could be other reasons for your not being able to have children and you are watching your cycles and you still aren't getting pregnant, then you should talk to a dr.

Why give me a thumbs down.... If you aren't watching your cycles and carefully trying to get pregnant....then it won't happen!
I really dont think that his use of marijuana has to do with you not getting pregnant. A lot of people try for years and don't get pregnant. I would check with a doctor to see if you (or him) are having problems with conceiving.
go to the doctor... and get a physical... I would suggest he gets checked out too...
Alot of men used marijuanna when they were young, and im pretty sure that there is no reason that you can't have kids. Go to the doctor to make sure. You should of course go get checked one a year anyway, so find out then.
DOES HE PULL OUT? IT'S POSSIBLE THAT THAT METHODS BEEN WORKING, ITS WHAT THEY USED BEFORE HORMONES YOU KNOW...

SERIOUSLY THOUGH, I WOULD BE CONCERNED AND I SUGGEST YOU BOTH GO AND GET FERTILITY TESTS.

ON THE OTHER HAND , ARE YOU SURE HE DOESNT STILL SMOKE POT? YEARS OF MARIJUANA USE AS FAR AS FERTILITY IS CONCERNED CAN BE REVERSED AS LONG AS HE STOPS SMOKING AND A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF TIME HAS PASSED.
Probably. I mean after 3 years of trying to conceive and nothing happens. I bet at least one of you is infertile. You both should probably go talk to your doctor.
When he was a child?Anyways that will not affect your getting pregnant. It may affect his sperm count. Maybe it's just not the right time. It usually happens when its unexpected.
I agree, the Doc is your best bet!
hell yes, put a dime between your knees and don't let it hit the floor,,,,,,,,,,
I am confused...you had sex with him for the first time unproteced or you have been doing it for the last 3 years? Anyway, if it was the first time, take precautions to protect yourself, if it's the latter and you two want to have a wee one, than I would tell you to contact your doc. but keep in mind if you have been on a birth control for a long time, it can slow things down.
Marijuana doesn't affect anything. My grandfather is a pharmacologist with a specialization in medicianl marijuana. the absolute ONLY effects Marijuana has are on the lungs, and those problems are easily remedied. If a person only smokes once or twicew a week, the lungs can reform and heal themselves. the other effect pot has is on short term memory, but those effects wear off about 24 hours after smoking, so let him smoke all he wants!
a lot of things can be preventing it, like are either of you overweight, do you smoke, do you eat properly and so on...
You should only be worried if your man is unfaithful and there is the possibility of catching one of those nasty diseases out there. You are 21. You do not want a baby yet, trust me.
well, i'm almost certain the ';Marijuanna'; is not to blame.
OBVIOUSLY IF YOU HAVE SEX YOU CAN GET PREGNENT TAKE A PREGNANCY TEST?
