Someone from the uk is threatening my life over something I have no control over, what do I do?

My company that I used to work for sold some items to someone from the uk. After the sale was final, he decided that he no longer wanted the items and wants all the money back. I have no control over what the company does. They refuse to send the money back and they want him to pick up the items. He refuses and continually threatens me and my family. What do I do? Don't you have laws against this? The deal and the money had nothing to do with me. I have never been in this situtaion before, but this is what I would do. I would start recording his messages if I can. Start a log of when he calls you, time etc. I know this sounds like a lot of work, but you need this information to get a restraining order on him should it come to that. I am from the UK and can assure you that if you pass all the details of the threats you have had to the British police. It will be dealt with swiftly and the person making the threats will end up with a prison sentence. I am sure that if you contact a British consulate or the Embassy the matter will be passed to the appropriate department. I will go so far as to say that if you wish to e-mail all the relevant details along with any copies of said threats I myself will take them to the local police and see if they can pass them on to the correct people. I must say that I am sorry that you are a victim of a sick idiot from my country. I hope this will soon be resolved for you.
Try asking the police the same question, you should get some more reliable answers!
It is a civil matter with no jurisdiction of police. But his threats has made it a criminal offence. Contact your local police station, and initiate criminal proceeding against him. Seek their protection, and get restraining orders. Keep the record of his threat as well.

as long as he doesnt have your personal information as to where you live and what not, then you have nothing to worry about. now im not kidding about this: if you already dont have one, i would invest in a shotgun. if the man does find out where you live and comes to ';get you'; then call the police and if the man tries to break in, you can shoot him in self defense. you cant go to jail for killing someone in self defense.
If this is a genuine situation then get expert legal advice asap. This is the last place to ask advice on a life or death matter. The majority of contributors on here are barrack-room lawyers and as we all know, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.





If I were a cynical person I would suspect a little fantasy scenario but I'm not. So disregard at least 99% of the drivel you can see as answers on this page.

Hmmmm I think you should contact the FBI and let them talk to the British Police. I think making threats to kill over a state line is a Federal offence.





But, How and why does he have your name and address?


I suspect there is more to this than meets the eye.
Keep a record of all correspondence. Contact the police without delay. You may even want the company to advise this man that you are no longer involved with their company and that all negotiations must be between the man and the company who sold him the goods.
Contact the local authorities and try to get a retraining order.
What is happening is not good but if you live in another country then I can't imagine this guy coming from the UK to hunt you out. There are a lot of morons here in the UK who have more mouth than action.Do not answer his phone calls and if you don't work for that company now then just forget about it and see how it goes.

Report this to the Police IMMEDIATELY. What he is doing is completely illegal. Possibly not the money and collection thing but the threats against you and your family are most certainly illegal. Also notify the company straight away. If you already and they have done nothing take it higher in the company or to a solicitor. The company have a duty to protect you from these threats. But please tell the Police straight away and keep a note of the times and dates of the threats. What this man is doing is illegal and immoral. Chances are he will not carry out these threats but is using them to get what he wants but it is still against the law.


I do agree with some of the other comments about something else going on though. Sounds very fishy to me and what on earth was the company doing giving out your details? That also needs to be reported as that is breaking Data Protection Act and an offence in itself. You are certainly best off out of that company by the sound of it.

Go to a solicitor and he will sort everything out for you as a restraining order would be a start and he will do this for you.
for yours and your family's sake - get in touch with the police !!! don't try to handle this yourself, it's not worth the risk. leave it to the professionals.

If you have left the company, and have done nothing wrong, then you should not have any problems.

The customer has the right to sue the company that cheated him but not the employee.You write to him to refer the subject as a company matter and not your personal.If any damage caused to you in this connection, both the company and the customer will be liable for the offence.
hes angry because yr comany choose not to give him a refund which hes entitled to have just because hes in the uk doesnt mean you can refuse
