I am more than a little concerned about someone who smokes and has never managed a business or governed a city or state. Does this concern anyone else. It seems to me that a smoker has little self constraint.What do you think ?If a man has no self control - how can he manage a country ?

I smoke and have a helluva lot of self control and I work in the emergency and public safety field. Just because I smoke and have never managed a business or governed a city or state...does that mean I can't save your life? No, it doesn't. Smoking has nothing to do with it.





When McCain wanted to run in district one (AZ) he didnt live there. Cindy went and purchased a home in the district and setup shop for him THE SAME DAY.

So, I think you don't know your candidates.
I am voting for McCain too, but not because of this reason. If you are using this as a reason it is a VERY LAME reason.





You vote because they have the same views as you and you think they will do good for the country. Not because they smoke or don't smoke.





If this is the basis for people choosing a president our country is doomed.

If you're referring to Barack Obama, he's quit smoking. Unlike McCain who is a quitter- he quit Michigan, Ohio, Virginia. Is that the kind of President we want, one that quits when the going gets tough?


And if you're talking about self control, John McCain has none when it comes to the ';love below'; i.e. cheating on his first wife with his second.
Does Sen. McCain smoke? Is that the cause of his melanomas? Don't fret, your concern is touching, but the Presidency is in good hands with Sen. Obama, whose quite healthy. Though like all soon-to-be Presidents, is greying on the sides a little. Hope that reassures your concerns, dear.

I completely agree with you. Not to mention the fact that he crashed 7 planes, left his wife because of his ambitions, graduated bottom of his class and his new wife is a drug addict. How can McCain manage a country.

The smoking part is not so big. The part where he has never balanced a budget, passed major legistlation or brought about even a speck of the change he promises to bring about if elected is more important.
