What about no traction control for 2008. last time they did that two drivers died, and bald tires for 2009?

Are they trying to kill drivers. What about no traction control for 2008. last time they did that two drivers died, and bald tires for 2009?
No chance! They are just trying to make the sport more competitive. Nice questionWhat about no traction control for 2008. last time they did that two drivers died, and bald tires for 2009?
Lack of traction control didnt kill Raltzenberger and Senna, just a lack of safety standards on the cars and tracks that is heavily present today.

They are trying to improve the racing. Isnt that what all F1 fans wanted?
No they're not!

What is in your mind?

Besides, its a chance to separate the men from the boys, and Hamilton will have a much harder time!

But that does increase the danger considerably.

Still, its gonna be a great 2008 season!
It's a really big stretch to tie in traction control with anyone dying. Sounds like someone's just trying to stir the pot a little here.
the drivers are very well protected,i would not worried about it
In fact they are trying to ';skill'; the driver.

When it is March, you would see them well adapted to the non-TC racing. The boys would have to have a little more impulse control, the old instinctive ';stepping on it'; would probably cause them to be sitting in the gravel or leaning on the fence. I dont foresee any fatalities due to loss of TC, just that a few drivers would be feeling extremely dumb getting out of the car and walking through gravel (Not that it doesnt happen now!). I'd say that the cars become a little less forgiving.

The ';bald tyres';, more commonly referred to as ';slicks'; in racing are in fact favored by the drivers for the reason that they give more grip.
Its just not true that the lack of traction control will lead to deaths of drivers, its just ridiculous to assume that, what they do before they had it to start with? No TC means that next season, for the first season since 2000, it will be more about the driver skill not just on electronic aids in the car, that's not to say the drivers are not skilled already but it will be fabulous to see the cars with their tails out again, just look at Schumacher during the testing he is the only driver in the Ferrari lineup to have driven a car without TC.

As for the slick tires in 2009 they are testing the Bridgestone Potenza tires in Jerez on December 4-7 this year, next season will see the use of Active Tire Pressure to monitor the temps of the tires, the first step in the introduction of the slicks again.
To try and relate no traction control and drivers being killed doesnt make sense. If you are reffering to Aryton Senna and Roland Ratzenberd being killed then it was not because of traction control that killed Senna. It was the car bottoming out that made him lose control of the car and when the car hit the wall the suspension arm struck him in the helmet.

In my opinion slick tires are safer then groove tires. Slick tires offer much more grip. On groove tires you have such a small contact patch that grip is half of what it would be with slick tires.

In any type of auto racing there is risk of injury and death. The crash that Robert Kubica was inivolved in was amazing in Canada that he walked away with minior injuries. This really shows how far cars have come as far as safety goes. Just maybe 10 years ago it would have been fatal.

But it is up to the driver, drivers and teams involved not to put themselves in the situation which might cause harm to themselves and other around them. Like Hamilton staying out to long on his worn tires. Stupid decisions like that is what can lead to death's and injuries.
Hell no, no traction control doesn't mean drivers get killed! What kind of logic is that? No traction control means now we can get to see who the skilled drivers really are. It will really show who can best handle the car and my bet is on kimi or alonso. I can say that most of the new guys will take some time to get used to it.
I've driven cars without traction control and very bald tyres before! I still do in fact.

Come on, we're talking Formula 1 drivers here. They can drive a bit, you know.

And they are not called ';bald'; tyres. They are ';slicks';. Two completely different things.
Well F1 has an open cockpit, so dont you think that is dangerous? Probably they should limit the speed to max 250.

--------------

No TC does not mean death. Last driver to be killed ... Sennain the year 1994. So from 14 years there has been no deaths. More people are killed else where than in F1. Stop being silly.
Don't be silly. They're not trying to kill drivers. I would say the opposite that they are trying to make the sport more competitive and safer. When you have all sorts of driver's aids, he will try to lean more on the edge of grip and speed. Speeds will get higher and could lead to more possible injuries.

Take away those aids and now there is less room for error. A driver gets a little too greedy and traction lets loose, the car loses speed. It's going to be in the driver's hands of how fast he can go.

As for the tires, now is the time to reintroduce slicks to the sport. If there were still two different tire manufacturers I wouldn't say that. But with a control tire you can easily limit what that tire can and can't do. It is another way to regulate speeds.

All of these measures are in direct correlation to coming rules changes that will take downforce off of the cars. But at the same time hopefully they will reintroduce things like ground effects that will make passing easier and make races more competitive.
F1 cars without traction control is predicules.. how can drivers focus more than 100%..?? I think there will be more accidents in 2008 season.. maybe some drivers get killed.. and FIA will make their name disaster in sports arena.. Even Mario Thessien BMW Sauber boss was not happy about that..
