Is it bad to be friends with someone who is racist?

I know this guy he says the n word. He grew up in the deep south and he really cares a lot about what his family thinks about him. He signed up for the army but is changing to the marines bc his family (mostly marines) made fun of him. Anyway I am latina but my mom is a black latina. so I kinda look black he knows that but he still says stuff like that in front of me. Over all he's a nice guy just ignorant. Should I keep being friends with him and try to show him he's wrong or stop talking to him. I have a bf so I'm not interested in dating him he knows I have a bf we're just friends.Is it bad to be friends with someone who is racist?
That's like asking is it bad to be friends with a pedophile. Of course it's bad. The only difference is that pedophiles were born that way and can't help it. Racists are racist because they're evil.Is it bad to be friends with someone who is racist?

Not at all.. At least you get to learn the reasons why (we are) what we are...


But then again, there are so many who can't


accept the truth to things, And so-called ignorance isn't the answer - there is a reason (s) to everything in life whether we all like it /them or not..


Why do people cause the stupidity that they do... For their actions, are we supposed to love and embrace them as the Bleeding Heart Societies say we should do..


Remember that if people want respect - it has to be earned, not given to them on a silver platter especially with their attitudes that the world owes them a living..

If I were you, I wouldn't befriend him.
well, it depends.. If he is like really hardcore racist, I don't think you should befriend him.
Um I wouldnt hang around people that call people stupid chirstians or Crackers all day but i wouldnt hate them either. I would tell them how i feel once MAYBE twice then if they still didnt stop i wouldnt hang out with them anymore
